We are seeking motivated, competitive, dependable, and self-directed Group Sales Representatives who want to build a career in sales while earning commission based on individual performance. Representatives receive training, qualified lead lists, sales materials, and access to Hondo’s sales platform. However, company-provided leads are only one part of this role. Successful representatives must take ownership of building their own pipelines and consistently create new opportunities through independent outreach, referrals, networking, and prospecting. This is a results-driven role requiring consistent outbound activity, disciplined follow-up, accurate recordkeeping, independent lead generation, and clearly defined weekly sales expectations. What You Will Sell Regular event tickets Group-ticket packages Tailgate Club tickets and packages This position does not directly sell or negotiate VIP Floor Boxes, suites, sponsorships, or other VIP products. Representatives may receive an additional referral commission for identifying qualified VIP or sponsorship opportunities that are transferred to the appropriate Hondo representative and result in a completed sale.
Primary Responsibilities:
Make outbound sales calls to businesses, organizations, associations, previous customers, and prospective group buyers. Independently identify prospects, open new doors, and develop relationships that generate new sales opportunities. Build and maintain an active personal pipeline through cold outreach, referrals, networking, social media, community involvement, and in-person prospecting. Work company-provided leads while recognizing that representatives are expected to generate a substantial portion of their own opportunities. Use phone calls, emails, text messages, social media, referrals, and other outreach methods to generate sales. Identify each prospect’s budget, group size, needs, and purchasing authority. Recommend the regular-ticket, group-ticket, or Tailgate Club option that best fits the customer. Follow up consistently until the prospect purchases, declines, or requests future contact. Maintain complete and accurate prospect, activity, follow-up, and sales notes in the company’s sales platform. Manage an active pipeline and communicate meaningful opportunities to sales leadership. Participate in sales meetings, coaching sessions, role-playing, and performance reviews. Learn Hondo’s events, seating options, pricing, promotions, and customer experience. Weekly Performance Expectations Each Group Sales Representative is expected to: Contact and document a minimum of 350 prospects per week. Sell a minimum of 100 tickets per week. Follow up with every assigned lead. Maintain accurate and timely notes on all sales activity. Consistently generate new opportunities beyond company-provided leads. Demonstrate urgency, independence, consistency, professionalism, and coachability. All activity must be documented in Hondo’s sales platform to count toward weekly performance expectations. New representatives will be evaluated closely during their first three weeks based on sales activity, ticket production, independent prospecting, follow-up, documentation, and responsiveness to coaching. Continued employment is based on performance and progress toward established sales and activity expectations. Compensation and Support$50,000 base salary plus performance-based commission.*Additional referral commission may be available for qualified VIP and sponsorship opportunities that result in completed sales. Company-generated lead lists. Sales scripts, pricing information, and marketing materials. Access to Hondo’s lead-management and sales platform. Product training and ongoing sales coaching. Opportunities for advancement as the sales organization grows.*Base salary may vary based on experience.
Ideal Candidate:
Recent college graduate or entry-level professional interested in building a sales career. Highly self-motivated and capable of creating opportunities without waiting for leads to be assigned. Comfortable taking ownership of the entire sales process, from identifying prospects through closing and follow-up. Competitive, energetic, dependable, and resourceful. Comfortable being measured against clearly defined weekly goals. Confident making frequent outbound calls and speaking with business decision-makers. Able to handle rejection without losing momentum. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Organized and disciplined with follow-up and recordkeeping. Willing to accept coaching and take ownership of personal performance. Interested in sports, concerts, entertainment, hospitality, or live events. A college degree and previous sales experience are preferred but not required. Work ethic, initiative, coachability, communication ability, and results are the most important factors. Remote Work and Travel This is a fully remote position focused primarily on Hondo Rodeo Fest’s Phoenix, Tampa Bay, and New Orleans markets. Candidates may work from anywhere in the United States, although familiarity with or professional connections in one or more of these markets is preferred. Some travel and event-day participation may be required, including occasional evenings and weekends. Growth Opportunity Hondo Rodeo Fest is building its sales organization for long-term growth. Strong performers may have opportunities to take on larger group accounts, ticketing responsibilities, sales operations duties, or future leadership roles as the team develops.
Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
