Job Summary: The Metrologist will calibrate, repair, and maintain precision measuring equipment, such as electronic, electro-mechanical, physical, dimensional, mechanical, and optical Test, Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE). Also provides engineering support to Calibration Specialists within the calibration laboratory.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities: Interprets complex equipment specifications to develop reliable calibration methods, procedures, data sheets, and test reports. Maintains and updates existing inventory of calibration procedures and forms. Performs analysis to determine measurement process capabilities and measurement uncertainties. Identifies, recommends, and evaluates test and measuring equipment to maintain and improve laboratory capabilities. Assists technicians with technical issues and problems, including troubleshooting broken equipment and resolving measurement issues. This includes in-place calibrations as well as in-lab calibrations. Performs other related duties as required.
