About the role

Teach experienced professionals how to use generative AI effectively while keeping human judgment, review, and professional standards in control. Independent contractor Remote — United States Classes scheduled as needed $5 per class participant; $25 minimum per class hour; $200 maximum per class
Overview: HIA is looking for experienced professionals with strong applied AI fluency who can teach adults clearly and practically. Instructors deliver HIA’s existing curriculum and help participants connect the material to the professional work they already understand. Most teaching is live and virtual. Occasional in-person teaching opportunities may arise. The role is best suited to someone who can explain complex ideas plainly, manage a live room, answer questions without bluffing, and keep the session focused on useful application rather than software features.
Responsibilities: Deliver HIA seminars and workshops using the approved curriculum and instructor materials. Prepare for each class and understand the examples, exercises, and teaching points before delivery. Explain generative AI concepts in plain professional language. Demonstrate AI use while making review, judgment, limitations, and risk visible. Guide discussion and participant questions while keeping the class on schedule. Flag curriculum issues, unclear examples, or recurring learner questions for HIA’s review. Represent HIA professionally in virtual sessions and occasional in-person engagements.
Qualifications: Substantial professional experience and strong practical fluency with generative AI. Ability to explain AI use to experienced adults without unnecessary technical jargon. Strong presentation, facilitation, and communication skills. Sound judgment about accuracy, confidentiality, limitations, and responsible AI use. Reliability in preparing for and delivering scheduled sessions. Prior teaching, training, facilitation, or public-speaking experience is preferred but not required. Some evening or weekend availability is preferred. Comfort teaching HIA’s curriculum closely rather than substituting a personal course or methodology. Compensation$5 per class participant, with a minimum of $25 per class hour and a maximum of $200 per class. Work arrangement Based remotely within the United States. Most classes are live virtual sessions, with occasional in-person teaching opportunities.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
