About the role
A large, complex healthcare organization is expanding its Network Engineering team as it undertakes a significant modernization of its enterprise network infrastructure. This is a hands-on Senior Network Engineer opportunity for someone who can independently troubleshoot enterprise networking environments, work across Cisco and Juniper technologies. You will also have the opportunity to support network infrastructure for new facility construction, including the design and buildout of user-side network infrastructure.
What You'll Do:
Design, implement, maintain and troubleshoot enterprise network infrastructure. Support Cisco routing, switching, wired and wireless networking across a large, highly available environment. Support and help execute the organization's Juniper-to-Cisco network migration. Troubleshoot complex routing, switching, wireless and connectivity issues. Support WAN routers, enterprise edge infrastructure, satellite sites and network device onboarding. Participate in network engineering and infrastructure projects, including new facility construction. Help design and build network infrastructure supporting new hospital facilities. Monitor network performance, availability and capacity. Use network inspection and packet-analysis tools to diagnose difficult issues. Support network infrastructure within IDFs and other network/technology spaces. Maintain network documentation, procedures, diagrams and technical standards. Work with security, voice, systems and other technology teams on enterprise infrastructure initiatives. Coordinate with vendors and other technical partners. Take ownership of assigned technical projects and deliver with minimal supervision. Participate in scheduled on-call responsibilities.
What We're Looking For:
5+ years of enterprise network engineering experience Strong hands-on Cisco routing and switching experience Experience working with Juniper networking Experience supporting enterprise wired and wireless infrastructure Strong understanding of: TCP/IPVLANsRouting protocols SwitchingDNS/DHCPWAN/LANNetwork troubleshooting Experience supporting large, complex or highly available network environments Experience with Webex Cloud Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to independently own technical assignments and projects Strong communication and technical documentation skills Healthcare experience is preferred but not required. Cisco certifications and experience with network monitoring, packet analysis, VoIP/QoS, scripting or network automation are additional pluses.
