Payroll Specialist Bowie, MD | Full-Time | On-Site Monday–Friday$80,000–$90,000 Base Salary + BonusNot considering international (must be US Citizen) or relocation candidates at this time Established professional services firm hiring a Payroll Specialist. This is an opportunity to join a growing business with a stable team and strong employee retention. The Payroll Specialist will manage payroll for approximately 7–8 clients, covering roughly 300 employees. This person will own payroll processing, compliance, reporting and reconciliations while serving as a reliable point of contact for clients.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage end-to-end payroll across multiple clients with weekly, biweekly and semimonthly schedules.
  • Review payroll data, employee changes, deductions and adjustments to ensure accurate and timely processing.
  • Handle payroll taxes, filings and related compliance requirements.
  • Reconcile payroll records to the general ledger and resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare payroll reports and support accounting activities related to payroll.
  • Respond to client and employee payroll questions with clear, professional communication.
  • Maintain accurate records and protect confidential employee information.
Qualifications:
  • Hands-on experience independently managing full-cycle payroll.
  • Strong understanding of payroll taxes, reporting, reconciliations and compliance.
  • Experience supporting multiple clients or payroll entities preferred.
  • Comfortable working with payroll software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
  • Professional communication skills and a client-service mindset. Compensation & Work Environment
  • $80,000–$90,000 base salary, depending on experience, plus bonus, full benefits, 401k
  • Fully on-site in Bowie, MD, Monday–Friday.
  • Established firm with a collaborative team and a track record of employee longevity.
