About the role

Ready to keep a world-class foundry running? We're Amsted Rail – Griffin Wheel in Keokuk, IA, the North American leader in railroad wheel manufacturing. We're looking for a Foundry Electrical Maintenance Specialist who lives for tough troubleshooting and takes safety personally.
Is this you?
  • Do you instinctively lock out/tag out, gear up to NFPA 70E, and know OSHA 29 CFR 1910 like second nature?
  • Can you connect to SLC 500 and Control
  • Logix PLCs, trace a fault, and make responsible program edits?
  • Have you repaired drive motors and field devices (proximity and limit switches, lasers) under pressure?
  • Are VFDs, process loops, and PC/PLC maintenance part of your daily toolkit?
  • Can you install conduit and sealtite, pull wire, and bring new equipment online cleanly and safely?
  • What you'll tackle
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex electrical and electronic systems across heavy manufacturing operations. Maintain PCs/PLCs, VFDs, and control loops to sustain uptime and product quality.
  • Perform new installations: conduit/sealtite work, wiring runs, terminations, and testing.
  • Document precisely: collect data, enter findings, and track preventative maintenance activities.
  • What it takes to succeed
  • Self-starter who thrives without direct supervision and sweats the details.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; advanced schooling and/or 5 years of verifiable industrial maintenance experience ideal.
  • Ability to pass screening and skills assessments.
  • When you'll work
  • Off-shift role with daily and weekend overtime as needed.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
