Role Description:
The Customs Brokerage Manager (ORD) is a full-time, on-site role based in Los Angeles, CA, responsible for overseeing daily customs brokerage operations and ensuring timely clearance of international shipments. This role manages brokerage processes, supervises team performance, and ensures compliance with customs regulations and internal policies. The manager coordinates with customers, carriers, and internal departments to resolve issues, optimize workflows, and maintain high service levels. Additional responsibilities include monitoring financial performance related to brokerage activities, preparing reports, supporting audits, and driving continuous improvement in operational efficiency and customer experience.
Qualifications:
Strong expertise in Customs Brokerage and Brokerage processes, including import/export regulations and compliance.
Proven experience in Operations Management, with the ability to lead teams and manage day-to-day logistics activities.
Solid understanding of Finance as it relates to brokerage billing, cost control, and margin management.
Demonstrated Customer Service skills, with the ability to manage client relationships and resolve issues effectively.
Relevant experience in international logistics or freight forwarding; CBP broker license or equivalent certification is a plus.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management abilities, with strong attention to detail.
Effective written and verbal communication skills and proficiency with standard office and logistics software.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
