Shift: Monday-Friday 8:30am - 4:30pmPrimary Location: 8950 University Blvd, Suite 150, North Charleston, SC - Position will travel to offices across the system. The Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Coordinator is responsible for coordinating departmental workflows, supporting operational processes, and facilitating efficient day-to-day activities within the DME program. This role provides guidance and support to team members, assists with onboarding and training activities, and ensures alignment of work across functions. The Coordinator partners with leadership to maintain organized, consistent, and effective operations while supporting staff in the execution of their responsibilities. This role provides guidance and support to team members, assists with onboarding and training activities, and supports the resolution of complex or escalated patient eligibility and workflow Job Functions Coordinate and support daily departmental workflows, including work prioritization, scheduling support, and alignment of team activities to ensure efficient as a resource to team members by providing guidance on processes, procedures, eligibility requirements, and patient-related workflows, escalating issues to leadership as perform Durable Medical Equipment Liaison responsibilities, including insurance verification, eligibility determination, patient financial responsibility review, and patient education on equipment use and safety. Support the resolution of non-routine or complex coverage, authorization, or documentation issues, and assist in ensuring consistent application of processes across the team. Assist with orientation, onboarding, and ongoing training of associates, including reinforcement of standard processes and leadership with department operations, including tracking workflow needs, assisting with work organization, and maintaining awareness of operational demands. May assist in the creation and processing of purchase orders and related operational workflows and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, and overall effectiveness of departmental processes.   • Provide fitting, patient education on application, use, care, and expected outcome for products as indicated by the physician instructions and manufacturer
patients on insurance plans and provisions, financial responsibility, and collection of patient portions. Ensure all necessary documentation and authorization is obtained as it relates to payer requirements. Track, maintain, and order inventory for one or multiple promote and foster excellent relations inter-departmentally and with external case managers, payers, suppliers, physician clinical staff and surgery personnel. Ensure compliance is maintained by documenting custom measurements, ABN's, MAE's and LMN's as needed. Ability to work with a team of DMEPOS Coordinators and Billing Specialists. Posts DME charges. Train employees on DME process and procedures Cleaning/stocking Ensure blood borne pathogen, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements and other governmental regulations are adhered to.
