About the role

The opportunity: Dartry Search is partnering with a hedge fund to appoint an HR Business Partner in New York City. Reporting directly to the Chief People Officer, you will combine business partnering with people management and responsibility across the US and international markets. That combination offers the opportunity to contribute directly to the firm's people priorities while developing your own leadership experience. You will work with senior stakeholders on the decisions that shape their teams, from developing talent and strengthening performance to planning future capability. This would suit an HRBP who wants greater breadth, closer involvement in decision-making and a remit that extends beyond the US.
What you'll do: Help business leaders plan the talent and team structures they need, bringing informed HR advice to decisions about performance, development and retention. Coach managers through employee matters and change, balancing the needs of the business with sound judgement and fair treatment. Manage and develop HR colleagues, setting clear priorities and helping them deliver effective support to the business. Work with the CPO on people initiatives across jurisdictions, using workforce insights and local expertise to turn priorities into practical action.
What you'll bring: Strong HR business-partnering experience, ideally within a hedge fund, investment manager or another financial services business. The credibility to advise senior leaders, challenge constructively and handle sensitive situations with discretion. Experience managing or developing colleagues, alongside the ability to take ownership of a broad remit. Commercial awareness and confidence using people data, with international HR exposure particularly valuable. What's on offerA direct reporting line to the CPO and the opportunity to contribute to the firm's people agenda. A combination of international responsibility, business partnering and people management, offering scope to broaden your impact and leadership experience. Interested? Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
