About the role

Utilities Maintenance Technician Receives general supervision from the Public Works Director, Water Supervisor, Wastewater Supervisor or designee. Installs, operates, repairs and maintains all City's utilities. Maintains and cleans water and wastewater facilities. Performs general maintenance work in the manholes, including but not limited to washes. Operates and maintains various equipment and tools. Responsible for adequately addressing and fixing system breakdowns as in residential and commercial water and sewer leaks. Installs, maintains, repairs, and reads water meters. General knowledge of plumbing work. Responds to emergency calls for water, sewer lines and manhole issues. Performs other duties as required or assigned. Education, Certifications, and Requirements: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent. Valid Arizona State Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications: Spanish language fluency. Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) Water Distribution Grade I Certification, Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) Water Treatment Operator Grade I Certification.
Salary/Classification: Full-time position; FLSA non-exempt; Starting Salary Range 43 plus benefits outlined in the Personnel Manual.
