Sommelier / Floor Manager, Urban Grub, Nashville Urban Grub is a casual fine dining bar and eatery housed in a renovated carwash in Nashville's iconic 12 South neighborhood. Our space blends rustic elegance with custom woodwork, stone fireplaces, and intimate rounded booths across multiple indoor and outdoor dining areas. The menu is built around fresh fish and fine aged meats, a raw oyster bar, house-cured charcuterie, and Southern specialties with creative flair. We've been honored at the James Beard House and consistently rank among Nashville's top restaurants. If you want to work somewhere with serious culinary credibility and zero pretension, this is it. We're looking for a Sommelier/Floor Manager to lead our wine program while managing front-of-house service. This is a hybrid position for someone who can talk terroir at the table and run a floor with confidence. You'll own a 250+ SKU wine program and serve as a leader for our service team.
Responsibilities:
- Curate and maintain a 250+ SKU wine list, with a focus on pairings that complement our menu
- Manage all wine purchasing, inventory, and vendor relationships
- Train and develop front-of-house staff on wine knowledge and service standards
- Lead floor management during service, ensuring a seamless guest experience
- Collaborate with the kitchen on seasonal pairing recommendations and special events
Qualifications:
- CMS Certified Sommelier (Level 2) or WSET Level 2 in Wines required
- Fine dining experience required
- Management or supervisory experience strongly preferred
- Deep knowledge of Old and New World wines, with a passion for continuing education
- Proficiency with Aloha POS, Adobe InDesign, and BevSpotAbility to lead a team, stay cool under pressure, and deliver hospitality that keeps guests coming back
Nice to Have: Cocktail, spirit, and beer knowledge Server experience
Compensation & Benefits:
- $70,000 base salary
