About the role

The Role: You will call small business owners cold, introduce them to Biz Scout, and ask a simple question: would you be open to a conversation about selling your business? That's the job. It sounds simple. It isn't. Most people will hang up. Some will be rude. A few will be curious. A small number will say yes. Your job is to make that small number as large as possible, every single day, through volume, charm, and relentlessness. You will work from a daily target list we provide, but the best reps don't stop there. You will be expected to network, ask for referrals, and find your own paths to the right conversations. When you book a qualified meeting with Stephen Brown, our Head of Private Client, you earn a commission. When a business from your pipeline actually sells, you earn another one.
What We're Looking For: You do not need a resume full of sales experience. You need to be the kind of person who can make a stranger feel comfortable and curious within the first ten seconds of a phone call. That is either natural to you or it isn't. Beyond that, we want someone who: Hates losing more than they fear rejection Has the discipline to make a high volume of calls every day without burning out or cutting corners Builds relationships instinctively, not transactionally Treats a no as information, not a stop sign Shows up to work every day ready to perform, not just participate The Details
Location: Austin, TX (in-office, Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm)
Base Salary: $15/hour + commission
Compensation: Base plus commission on signed NDAsExperience Required: None. The right person is more important than the right resume. Why This Role Most sales jobs pay you to move product. This one pays you to open doors for business owners, considering one of the biggest decisions of their lives. That context matters. If you treat it like a numbers game only, you will wash out. If you treat every call as a real conversation with a real person, you will do well here and build a skill set that compounds for the rest of your career. We're a small, fast-moving team. The people who thrive here take ownership, don't wait to be managed, and care about outcomes over activity. If that sounds like you, we want to talk.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
