Position Summary:

The Furniture Operations & Sales Specialist is a versatile, hands-on team member responsible for supporting both the customer experience and daily operations of the furniture store. This position combines customer service, product receiving, warehouse organization, furniture assembly and repair, delivery coordination, showroom merchandising, warranty resolution and sales. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, organized, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where responsibilities may shift between the sales floor, warehouse, service department, and delivery operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Furniture Technician & Service Inspect, assemble, adjust, and prepare furniture for showroom display and customer delivery. Diagnose furniture issues and perform repairs or adjustments when appropriate. Inspect returned, damaged, or warranty-related merchandise and document findings. Coordinate replacement parts, repairs, exchanges, or other approved resolutions. Maintain appropriate tools, hardware, parts, and repair supplies. Warehouse & Receiving Receive incoming furniture shipments and verify merchandise against purchase orders and receiving documentation. Inspect merchandise for damage, shortages, or discrepancies upon arrival. Properly label, organize, stage, and store merchandise within the warehouse. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment. Assist with loading and unloading furniture while using proper handling and safety procedures. Help maintain accurate inventory and communicate discrepancies to management. Delivery Scheduling & Coordination Coordinate customer deliveries, pickups, service appointments, and related scheduling. Communicate with customers regarding delivery dates, timeframes, product availability, and scheduling changes. Work with warehouse and delivery personnel to ensure merchandise is properly staged and ready for scheduled deliveries. Review delivery schedules for accuracy and efficiency. Address delivery-related concerns and coordinate follow-up service when necessary. Assist with deliveries when necessary. Sales Floor & Merchandising Assist with furniture sales floor resets, showroom changes, and new merchandise placement. Move and arrange furniture to create attractive, functional room settings and displays. Maintain showroom presentation standards, including product placement, tagging, cleanliness, and organization. Assist with seasonal displays, clearance merchandise, and merchandising updates. Ensure showroom merchandise is properly assembled and presented. Warranty & Customer Resolution Receive and document customer warranty and service concerns. Inspect products and gather photographs, documentation, serial numbers, and other information required for warranty claims. Communicate with manufacturers, vendors, sales representatives, and customers regarding claims. Track open warranty and service issues through completion. Coordinate parts, repairs, replacements, exchanges, or other approved resolutions. Maintain professional communication with customers throughout the warranty process. Sales & Customer Service Assist customers with furniture selections based on their needs, style, space, and budget. Provide knowledgeable information regarding furniture features, construction, fabrics, finishes, availability, and care. Prepare and process sales orders accurately. Build positive customer relationships and provide professional service throughout the entire purchasing process. Assist customers with questions regarding orders, deliveries, warranties, repairs, and product concerns. Help resolve customer issues professionally and efficiently while protecting the reputation and interests of the company.
Skills & Qualifications:
Strong customer service and communication skills. Mechanical ability and experience assembling or repairing furniture. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow issues through to completion. Comfortable working independently as well as part of a sales, warehouse, and delivery team. Basic computer and point-of-sale/order management skills. Ability to safely lift, move, and handle furniture and merchandise. Strong attention to detail when receiving merchandise, processing orders, scheduling deliveries, and handling warranty claims. Ability to drive a box truck.
