About the role
- Minimum of 10 years Capital Construction experience (hands-on craft experience and/or inspection experience can be combined with a minimum of 5 years inspection experience).AWS Certified Welding Inspector.
- Understanding of NDE/NDT processes such as penetrant testing, magnetic particle testing, radiographic testing.
- Experience with coordinating and prioritizing visual inspections.
- Technical understanding of construction installation techniques (piping and structural steel).Ability to determine corrective action with regard to construction installation deficiencies.
- Familiarity and have previous work experience with AWS/ASME codes of construction.
- Proficient computer skills for the position (e.g., Bluebeam literate, Navisworks or equivalent modeling software, electronic document management systems)
- Understanding of hierarchy between codes and standards, approved design, and owner's specification in regards to construction installation requirements.
- Candidate may be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance based on position access requirements and essential job functions.
- Able to certify and operate aerial work platform equipment (e.g., scissor lift, boom lift)
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization, as well as interface with regulators, contractors, and suppliers.
- Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
- Requires frequent leaning, bending, stooping, crouching, grasping, and reaching above the shoulders and below the knees.
- Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 40 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.
- Fine motor coordination and strong depth perception is beneficial.
- Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
- Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
