Summary:
Hamilton High School is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Substitute Drivers Ed Instructor to temporarily fill in for our after-school drives. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and a commitment to ensuring that students develop safe and responsible driving habits. This position requires flexibility, strong communication skills, and the ability to engage students effectively in behind-the-wheel instruction.
Responsibilities:
Conduct behind-the-wheel training sessions, providing hands-on instruction to students in a variety of driving conditions.- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve their driving skills.- Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding student performance and any concerns that may arise.- Follow all school policies and procedures, including those related to safety and student confidentiality.- Prepare instructional materials and lesson plans as needed, ensuring alignment with state curriculum standards.- Attend staff meetings and professional development opportunities as required.
Requirements:
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.- State certification or licensure as a Drivers Ed Instructor preferred; willingness to obtain certification may be considered.- Previous experience teaching or working with high school students is preferred.- Strong knowledge of traffic laws and safe driving practices.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.- Ability to adapt to different learning styles and maintain student engagement.- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.- Flexibility to work on short notice and adapt to varying schedules.- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.- Ability to pass a fingerprint-based background check per School Board policy.
