About the role

Job Description: We are looking for an experienced Water/Wastewater Estimator to join our team. You’ll play a key role in pursuing and planning water and wastewater infrastructure projects, developing accurate, competitive estimates and partnering closely with operations and project management from bid through project handoff. We’re looking for someone who understands water/wastewater construction and self-performed work and can evaluate scope, constructability, risk, and cost—not just perform takeoffs.
What You’ll Do: Develop estimates for water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, process piping, and related infrastructure. Perform quantity takeoffs and develop pricing for self-performed labor, materials, and equipment. Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals and ensure scope coverage. Evaluate project phasing, staging, logistics, constructability, and sequencing. Develop preliminary schedules to support estimating efforts. Identify project risks, opportunities, value-engineering ideas, and cost-saving strategies. Participate in bid reviews with operations and project management. Prepare detailed project budgets and lead estimating-to-project-team handoffs. Support subcontractor and supplier buyout following award. Partner with operations and project teams to help set projects up for successful execution.
What You Bring: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred. Experience estimating water and/or wastewater construction projects. Experience with self-performed structural concrete and/or heavy civil construction. Strong understanding of construction means, methods, sequencing, and productivity. Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents. Strong quantity takeoff, cost analysis, and scope review skills. Experience with HCSS, Primavera P6, Bluebeam, and On-Screen Takeoff preferred. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
