About the role
Dietary AideUnder the direction of the Dietary Supervisor the Dietary aide is responsible for assisting in preparing meals. The Dietary Aide works along-side the dietitian, Supervisor of Dietary and Cook to assist in preparing meals for the patient, employees and visitors of hospital. Duties will include preparing and cooking foods, delivering food to certain areas and patients and helping kitchen staff in maintaining a clean and sanitary work place. At all times work assignments will be determined by adjustment of patient census and current staff levels. The Dietary Aide will be assigned to work an 80hr. pay period and rotate every other weekend. The hours of work will be morning shift 5:30am to 2:00pm and evening shift 11:00am to 7:00pm. The Dietary Aide is expected to function within the scope of approved policies, procedures and regulations for the department and the organization. Must be able to relate and work in a professional non-defensive manner with peers, physicians, administration, patients and visitors. Attendance to yearly mandatory education is non- negotiable and is the responsibility of the employee to schedule and attend sessions.
