We are searching for a Design Engineer with a strong background in Hydraulic Fittings design. Knowledge of specific hydraulic components, tube fittings, fluid power components are all of interest.
Key Responsibilities: Design & Development: Author high-fidelity 3D CAD models and detailed engineering drawings for flared, flareless, swaged, and dynamic beam-seal fittings. System Analysis: Perform hydraulic fluid network modeling, pressure drop calculations, stress/fatigue evaluations, and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to ensure component integrity under high operating pressures (1,500 to 5,000+ psi). Standards & Compliance: Ensure all designs comply strictly with SAE aerospace standards (AS), legacy Military Standards (MS/AN), and FAA regulatory requirements. Materials Expertise: Deep knowledge of titanium (Ti-6 Al-4V), CRES (304), aluminum (2024-T6,6061-T6 & 7075-T3) and protective coatings and film lubricants. Manufacturing Integration: Define manufacturing requirements, including precision machining tolerances via GD&T, advanced metallurgy selections, passivation, and cleanroom packaging criteria. Testing & Validation: Plan and execute qualification test programs, including burst testing, impulse fatigue, vibration testing, and leak evaluation.
Required Technical Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related STEM discipline
Experience: 10+ years of direct experience in aerospace fluid conveyance or mechanical component design. Software Mastery: Proficient with major aerospace CAD tools (Solid Works) and FEA solvers. Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T):Thorough working knowledge of ASME Y14.5 to ensure precise fitment and tight metal-to-metal seals.
