About the role

Assouline is seeking a Designer, Digital Marketing to join our team. The Designer, Digital Marketing designs and adapts Assouline’s screen-based, digital and motion brand assets across digital platforms, social media, campaign rollouts, e-commerce, CRM and digital wholesale channels. Sitting within the Image & Creative Studio, this role translates approved creative direction and image standards into refined, platform-ready digital and motion work, bringing the same level of refinement to screen environments that Assouline brings to print and physical materials.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Design screen-based assets for digital brand platforms, campaign rollouts, digital storytelling, e-commerce, CRM, pure players and digital wholesale needs, translating approved art direction and visual territories into refined digital layouts and asset families. Design and adapt social media assets, including feed designs, story formats, carousel layouts, reel covers, animated stories and paid social adaptations, in partnership with the Social Media Manager and Digital Brand & Innovations team, keeping every format native to its platform without diluting Assouline’s visual standards. Create motion graphics, animated assets and video cutdowns that translate still image direction into refined, restrained motion, partnering with the Image Production Manager and external partners on production and post-production needs. Develop platform-ready assets for e-commerce, CRM and email, e-retailers, pure players and digital wholesale partners, meeting technical specifications, file constraints and delivery deadlines. Build coherent digital asset families across launches, Maison moments and campaigns, and adapt book, editorial, campaign or physical assets for digital use while preserving visual consistency and usage rights. Use AI-assisted creative tools to accelerate concepting, motion tests, storyboarding and rapid prototyping, while ensuring every output remains aligned with Assouline’s image standards. Maintain organized digital files, exports and handovers, and collaborate closely with the Image Studio Director, the Art Director and the Designer, Print & Physical Brand Assets to keep physical and digital expressions coherent.
QUALIFICATIONS: Four or more years of experience in digital design, motion design, brand design or creative studio environments. Strong portfolio demonstrating creative sensitivity, visual judgment, typography, motion rhythm, image composition and multi-format digital execution. Experience working with image-led, editorial, cultural, luxury, design, fashion or premium lifestyle brands, where visual consistency and taste are essential. Excellent command of Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects and Premiere Pro. Strong understanding of social platform formats, file preparation, export specifications and responsive constraints. Comfortable using AI-assisted tools for concepting, motion tests and rapid prototyping while preserving creative standards. Highly detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage several digital design requests at once with precision and agility. Genuine interest in books, culture, interiors, architecture, art, design, travel and luxury lifestyle. The appointed candidate will be offered a salary within the range of $85,000–$110,000 annually. Please note that the foregoing compensation information is a good-faith assessment associated with this position only and is provided pursuant to the New York City Salary Transparency Law. Assouline is an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
