About the role
As Area People Services Manager, you’ll serve as a trusted People Services partner to the General Managers and leadership teams of two premier hotels in Marina del Rey - Marina del Rey Hotel and Jamaica Bay Inn, a Tapestry Collection by Hilton. You’ll support leaders across employee relations, recruiting, compliance, engagement, development, and HR operations while helping create a positive, consistent, and compliant team member experience. You will:
Partner with General Managers and leadership teams on day-to-day People Services needs
Support a consistent, engaging, and compliant experience for new hires, transfers, promotions, and terminations
Coach managers through employee relations, performance management, and workplace concerns
Support investigations related to harassment, discrimination, Workers’ Compensation, and other employee relations matters
Partner with Home Office People Services on leaves of absence and compliance with applicable employment laws
Support recruiting and selection, including job postings, interviews, references, offers, and talent pipelines
Help managers navigate payroll-related matters, including meal periods, missed punches, overtime, and payroll processing
Support performance reviews, leadership development, recognition, and company programs
Partner with leadership to strengthen team member engagement, communication, and transparency
Coordinate and track New Hire Orientation and onboarding activities
Support monthly benefits enrollment and quarterly 401(k) enrollment
Maintain accurate team member records and HRIS information
Support Workers’ Compensation claims and communicate with adjusters as needed
Maintain required compliance postings and property People Services resources
Represent the company with outside agencies, including unemployment hearings or union matters when needed
Identify opportunities to improve the team member experience and strengthen property culture
Partner with the Home Office People Services team on company initiatives and program.

You’re a trusted resource for leaders who helps solve problems, strengthen teams, and create a positive workplace culture across both hotels.
WHAT WE’R LOOKING FOR 3+ years of related HR/People Services experience; hospitality experience required
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Strong employee relations experience, including investigations and performance management
Experience supporting recruiting, onboarding, benefits, leaves, Workers’ Compensation, and HR compliance
HRIS experience preferred
Strong coaching, leadership, communication, and presentation skills
Ability to build trust and work effectively with employees and leaders at all levels
High level of integrity, confidentiality, and sound judgment
Strong knowledge of employment practices and business operations
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Fluent Spanish a plus
Reliable transportation to travel between both hotels
