About the role

The USC Caruso Department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery seeks a board-eligible or board-certified Otolaryngologist with fellowship training and expertise in Sleep Surgery, or both Sleep Medicine and Sleep Surgery, to join our department. We are seeking an innovative clinician-scholar with demonstrated expertise or strong potential in sleep surgery, including contemporary approaches to the surgical management of obstructive sleep apnea and related sleep disorders. We seek faculty members whose career goals include excellence in patient care, research, and clinical teaching. Clinical responsibilities will include the evaluation and treatment of adult patients with sleep-related breathing disorders, including the performance of advanced sleep surgery procedures. This physician will closely collaborate with Sleep Medicine physicians and participate in the USC Multidisciplinary Sleep Center. Clinical duties will involve seeing patients in our various USC clinics, with surgery performed at Keck Medical Center of USC and other USC-affiliated hospitals. There is a strong opportunity to start a fellowship program if the candidate desires. Our institution offers tremendous clinical, research, and educational opportunities, and we encourage faculty to take full advantage of them. The department prioritizes mentorship, collaboration, and teamwork to promote faculty development within a supportive, intellectually curious, and collegial environment. Faculty are expected to pursue scholarly activities that advance patient care and contribute to the field of otolaryngology-head and neck surgery. Opportunities exist to participate in clinical research, resident and medical student education, and multidisciplinary collaborations across the USC health system. Faculty rank will be commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate. The University of Southern California (USC), founded in 1880, is one of the world's leading private research universities and the largest private employer in the City of Los Angeles. As a member of the USC faculty, you will join a distinguished academic community dedicated to advancing discovery, education, and patient care. The annual base salary range for an entry-level rank is $330,000 - $350,000. Supplemental incentive compensation will be added in accordance with the departmental compensation plan. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's experience, education, and training, key skills, internal equity, applicable laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, and external market considerations.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
