About the role

Job Description: The elementary secretary provides essential administrative, clerical, and student support services to ensure the efficient daily operation of the school. This position serves as the primary point of contact for students, parents/guardians, staff, and visitors. The secretary must maintain accurate records, including attendance and correspondence. The secretary will enter student schedules into the database at the beginning of the school year and throughout the year when new students enroll. Clerical duties include answering the telephone, responding to emails, filing, copying, scanning, collecting funds for meals or field trips, etc. The secretary sends absentee notices home at designated intervals, collects records when a student transfers in or out of the district, receives, sorts and delivers mail and packages, among other essential duties. The ideal candidate will be able to multi-task, stay cool under pressure, and meet deadlines. This job description is not all-inclusive of what might be expected from the elementary secretary. Training will be provided but experience is preferred. Salary is based on years of experience.
