Import Coordinator | Bensenville, Illinois | Hybrid working arrangement This is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented logistics professional with strong import experience who enjoys managing shipments from origin through final delivery. You will be responsible for coordinating import shipments, communicating with overseas offices, carriers, customs brokers, and customers, and ensuring all documentation and operational requirements are handled accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities: Coordinate air and ocean import shipments from origin through final delivery Manage import documentation, shipment milestones, and delivery schedules Communicate with overseas agents, carriers, customs brokers, and customers Review and process bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, and other import documentation Track shipments and proactively resolve delays, discrepancies, and operational issues Coordinate customs clearance and ensure shipments move in accordance with customer requirements Arrange deliveries and work closely with trucking partners and warehouses Maintain accurate shipment records and update customers throughout the process Monitor shipment costs, billing, and documentation Provide a high level of customer service while ensuring operational efficiency Work closely with internal teams across import, export, customs, and operations Requirements 2+ years of U.S. import freight forwarding experience Strong knowledge of international air and/or ocean imports Understanding of the complete import process from origin through delivery Experience with import documentation and customs procedures Strong communication and customer service skills Excellent organizational and time-management abilities Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities simultaneously Freight forwarding software experience preferred, particularly Cargo Wise Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
