Job Description: OPTOMETRY TECH We are seeking a friendly, organized, and detail-oriented Optometry Tech to support our eye care team. The ideal candidate will assist in preliminary eye tests, measuring visual acuity and charting medical history. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Greet and prepare patients for their eye examinations. Obtain and document patient medical and ocular history. Perform preliminary vision and diagnostic testing, including visual acuity, tonometry, auto-refraction, and other testing as directed. Assist with visual field testing, OCT, fundus photography, and other diagnostic procedures as trained. Prepare patients for examination and assist the optometrist during procedures. Enter and update patient information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).Explain testing procedures and answer basic patient questions in a professional and compassionate manner. Assist with contact lens training, insertion/removal instruction, and patient education as applicable. Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked examination and testing areas. Follow HIPAA, OSHA, infection-control, and office safety procedures. Assist with scheduling, patient flow, and other administrative duties as needed. Communicate effectively with the optometrist, clinical staff, and front-office team. Provide excellent customer service and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
