About the role

Our client is a public accounting firm. They seek a Tax Partner to join their Ocean, NJ office.
Responsibilities: Serve as the lead advisor to privately held businesses, pass-through entities, corporations, partnerships, trusts, and high-net-worth individuals. Deliver sophisticated tax planning strategies that minimize tax liabilities and support clients' business and financial objectives. Review complex federal, state, and local tax returns while ensuring technical accuracy and compliance. Build, develop, and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted business advisor. Identify opportunities to expand services within existing client relationships and actively participate in business development efforts. Mentor, coach, and develop Tax Managers, Seniors, and Staff, fostering professional growth and technical excellence. Collaborate with audit, advisory, and consulting professionals to provide integrated client solutions. Monitor changes in tax legislation and communicate planning opportunities to clients and internal teams. Participate in firm leadership initiatives, strategic planning, and practice development.
Requirements:
  • 12+ years of progressive public accounting tax experience, including significant leadership responsibilities
  • Demonstrated experience serving middle-market, privately held businesses and their owners
  • Strong background in partnership, S corporation, C corporation, and individual taxation
  • Proven success developing new business and expanding client relationships
  • Familiarity with multi-state taxation is preferred
  • Experience advising clients across a variety of industries, including manufacturing, distribution, professional services, construction, real estate, healthcare, or closely held businesses
  • Strong consultative approach with the ability to identify planning opportunities beyond complianceCPA required
