About the role

JCW is partnering with a venture capital firm to identify a Fund Accountant to join their growing finance team. This is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented accounting professional with 2–4 years of experience to deepen their expertise in fund operations within a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.
What You'll Do:
  • Maintain the general ledger and prepare financial statements for multiple venture capital funds
  • Calculate and record investment transactions, capital calls, and distributions
  • Assist with the preparation of investor capital account statements and quarterly reporting packages
  • Support the annual audit process and coordinate with external auditors
  • Reconcile portfolio company valuations and track fund-level performance metrics
  • Work closely with fund administrators and assist with management company accounting as needed
  • What We're Looking For2–3 years of fund accounting experience, ideally within venture capital, private equity, or a fund administrator servicing alternative investments; Big 4 experience preferred
  • Experience working with closed-ended fund structures, including familiarity with capital calls, distributions, and fund lifecycle accounting
  • Solid understanding of investment fund structures, capital accounts, and waterfall mechanicsCPA or progress toward CPA preferred
  • Proficiency in fund accounting systems (Allvue, Investran, Yardi, or similar) and strong Excel skills
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to manage multiple funds simultaneously, and a team-oriented mindset
