ABOUT THE TEAM: Anduril’s Maritime Division is responsible for planning and executing Anduril’s product and revenue roadmap for maritime missions. Working across product, engineering, business development, logistics, and operations, the Maritime team develops, tests, deploys, and sustains the Anduril maritime capabilities in a challenging operational environment worldwide. As a leader in the Maritime Division, you must be a technical leader with the expertise to evaluate, qualify, manage, and advocate for an increasing number of sophisticated parallel pursuits. This role is crucial in ensuring that each initiative aligns with the company’s strategic direction and receives the appropriate resourcing, balancing innovation with practical execution to drive the business line’s success.
ABOUT THE JOB: You will own lifting and handling equipment design for a maritime autonomous vehicle. Reporting to the Structural Mechanical lead, you will design fixtures, cradles, and rigging solutions that enable safe handling of the vehicle during manufacturing, transport, and field operations. The vehicle gets lifted dozens of times between the factory floor and the water, by people who did not design it. The fixtures and lift plans this role produces are what keep those lifts from damaging the vehicle or hurting someone.
WHAT YOU'LL DO: Own lifting and handling equipment design: fixtures, cradles, spreader bars, slings Perform load analysis and sizing for lifting equipment Define rigging procedures, lift plans, and safety documentation Design for interface with vehicle structural attachment points Coordinate with production, logistics, and deployment teams on handling requirements Support proof load testing and equipment qualification Ensure compliance with OSHA, Navy, or equivalent rigging standards Travel up to 25% to manufacturing, test, and operational sitesREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, rigging, or material handling equipment Experience with lifting fixture design and load analysis Familiarity with rigging safety standards (OSHA, ASME B30, or Navy equivalents)Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearancePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience with maritime or shipyard lifting operations Working knowledge of crane interface design Experience designing handling equipment for large vehicles or assemblies Experience in defense or maritime industriesUS Salary Range $146,000 — $194,000 USDThe salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
