About the Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced Sailmaker / Marine Rigger to join an established marine operation in Massachusetts. This is a hands-on role for someone with experience working on sailboats, yachts, and marine rigging systems who takes pride in high-quality craftsmanship. The ideal candidate has experience with standing and running rigging, sail installation and repair, deck hardware, and general sailboat systems. Candidates with a strong sailmaking background who also have practical rigging experience are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities:
- Install, inspect, service, and repair standing and running rigging
- Step and unstep masts and assist with mast tuning
- Replace and splice line, wire, and associated rigging components
- Install and service furling systems, winches, blocks, and deck hardware
- Inspect rigging for wear, corrosion, or potential failure
- Measure, fit, install, repair, and modify sails
- Assist with sail loft work and sail repairs as needed
- Troubleshoot sailboat and yacht rigging issues
- Work directly with customers, captains, and other marine technicians
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
