Community Green Landscape Group is seeking an experienced Safety & Asset Manager to lead safety initiatives and oversee company fleet, equipment, and asset management across our Dayton, Columbus, and Cincinnati operations. This role is responsible for developing a culture of safety, ensuring regulatory compliance, reducing risk, improving equipment reliability, and maximizing asset performance throughout the organization. We're looking for a proactive leader who can partner with field operations, train employees, improve processes, and ensure our teams have the tools and resources needed to operate safely and efficiently.

What You'll Do:
Safety Leadership
Develop, implement, and enforce company safety programs for commercial landscape operations
Conduct routine jobsite inspections, audits, and field safety assessments
Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations
Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses and implement corrective actions
Lead employee safety training, onboarding, and toolbox talks
Promote proper PPE usage and safe operation of vehicles, equipment, and tools
Maintain safety documentation, including training records, SDS logs, inspections, and incident reports
Drive continuous improvement and foster a strong culture of accountability and safety
Asset & Fleet Management
Oversee the inventory, maintenance, and lifecycle management of company assets, including trucks, trailers, mowers, trimmers, blowers, and specialized equipment
Develop and manage preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend equipment life
Implement and maintain asset tracking systems and equipment utilization processes
Coordinate maintenance and repairs with internal technicians and external vendors
Maintain accurate records of asset purchases, inspections, repairs, warranties, and disposals
Ensure fleet and equipment compliance with company standards and safety requirements
Support operational teams by ensuring equipment remains reliable, compliant, and field-ready
Qualifications:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Facilities Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field; equivalent experience considered
3+ years of experience in safety management, asset management, fleet management, facilities management, or related operational leadership roles
Working knowledge of OSHA, DOT, workplace safety regulations, and risk management principles
Experience in landscaping, grounds maintenance, construction, utilities, or other field service industries preferred
Experience with commercial landscaping equipment and maintenance procedures strongly preferred
Strong organizational, communication, training, and leadership skills
Proficiency with asset management software, fleet tracking systems, spreadsheets, and safety management tools
Mechanical aptitude and equipment knowledge preferred
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
Must meet Community Green Landscape Group's vehicle insurance standards and remain insurable under the company's fleet insurance policy
Working Environment
As the Safety & Asset Manager, your work environment will include a combination of office, shop, and field-based work supporting operations throughout Dayton, Columbus, and Cincinnati. Regular travel between branches, customer sites, and operational facilities is required.
Candidates must be comfortable walking on active job sites, working outdoors in varying weather conditions, conducting field inspections, and occasionally lifting equipment and materials up to 50 pounds. The position requires hands-on engagement with employees, vehicles, and equipment while supporting safety and operational excellence across multiple locations.
