About the role
- Develop and maintain transportation design models using OpenRoads Designer and MicroStation CONNECT.Prepare construction plans, profiles, cross sections, and quantity calculations for transportation projects.
- Design roadway and highway improvements, including: o Roadways and highwayso Intersectionso Roundaboutso Corridor modelingo Drainage systemso Utility coordination and designo Grading and earthwork
- Process and utilize survey data to support design development.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including roadway, drainage, utility, structural, and environmental disciplines.
- Support project delivery from preliminary design through final design and construction documentation.
- Ensure compliance with WSDOT, DOT, and project-specific standards and requirements.
- Participate in quality control reviews and mentoring of junior staff.#LI-JM5 Here's what you'll need 5+ years of transportation design experience for mid-level candidates; 10+ years preferred for senior-level candidates.
- Proficiency with MicroStation CONNECT Edition and OpenRoads Designer (ORD).Experience delivering transportation projects for WSDOT or other state DOT agencies.
- Strong understanding of roadway geometry, corridor modeling, grading, drainage, and utility design.
- Experience working with survey data, terrain models, and construction plan production.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidiscipline project teams.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Experience on large-scale transportation infrastructure programs.
- Familiarity with Project
- Wise environments and DOT workspace standards.
- Knowledge of digital delivery and model-based design practices.
