About the role
- You'll work in a well-equipped service shop diagnosing, repairing, and rebuilding AC/DC motors and rotating equipment. This is hands-on, skilled work where your expertise matters.
- Diagnose, repair, and rebuild AC and DC motors and electro-mechanical equipment
- Perform teardown, inspection, and reassembly of motors and components
- Conduct dynamic balancing of rotors and armatures
- Replace and repair mechanical components (bearings, seals, brushes, gears, etc.)Use precision tools and testing equipment (megger, surge tester, vibration analysis, etc.)Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues with confidence
- Operate shop equipment including overhead cranes and test panels
- Support occasional field service work, including equipment removal and installation
- Keep accurate job documentation and time records
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace
- Mentor and support junior mechanics as your experience grows
- We're open to a range of experience levels, but senior mechanics should be confident working independently and leading jobs.
- Experience repairing electric motors or similar rotating equipment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of electrical fundamentals
- Ability to read, diagnose, and solve equipment issues
- Experience with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators)
- Familiarity with vibration analysis (preferred for senior-level candidates)
- Self-driven with a strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Valid driver's license and ability to support occasional field work
