About the role
Position Overview:
Rochelle Township High School is seeking a High School Athletic/Activities Director to help achieve its vision of "Preparing Students for Their Tomorrow" by providing leadership, administration, and oversight of all interscholastic athletic programs and student activities, fostering student-athlete development, and upholding Board goals and strategic initiatives.
Athletic Program Administration & IHSA Compliance: Direct all 9-12 interscholastic sports; enforce IHSA rules, Board policies, and Title IX guidelines; contract officials and supervise game-day operations.
Staff Supervision & Evaluation: Recruit, hire, supervise, and evaluate head coaches, assistant coaches, and event personnel; lead coaches' meetings and promote sportsmanship and leadership development.
Facility & Operations Management: Direct contest facility preparation, athletic scheduling, equipment procurement, game-day logistics, and athletic transportation in coordination with operations staff.
Budget & Resource Management: Manage the athletic department budget, revenue collection, gate receipts, and athletic equipment accounts; collaborate with booster organizations.
Student-Athlete Academic Support & Standards: Monitor student-athlete eligibility, uphold student conduct codes, and promote academic excellence alongside athletic performance.
Community Engagement: Build positive relationships with parents, booster clubs, community athletic organizations, and Rochelle feeder programs.
Qualifications:
Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with General Administrative (Type 75) or Principal Endorsement preferred
Master's degree in educational leadership, sports administration, physical education, or a related field.
Successful experience in athletic administration, head coaching, and/or school-level leadership.
Strong knowledge of IHSA rules and regulations, Title IX compliance, safety protocols, and student academic eligibility tracking.
Demonstrated history of utilizing strong leadership, interpersonal, communication, conflict resolution, and organizational skills.
