About the role
- Provide person-centered services and supports to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Work at multiple residential homes based on program and staffing needs
- Provide coverage for employee PTO, call-offs, vacancies, training, appointments, and other staffing needs
- Assist individuals with activities of daily living and personal care
- Encourage independence, personal choice, community participation, and meaningful relationships
- Support individuals with appointments, activities, transportation, and community outings
- Assist with meal preparation, cleaning, laundry, and other household responsibilities
- Administer medications after completing required training and authorization
- Follow individual service plans, protocols, behavior-support plans, and health and safety requirements
- Complete required documentation accurately and on time
- Maintain professional communication with individuals receiving services, coworkers, supervisors, families, and other members of the support team
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and changes in individual needs
- Complete required training and maintain the certifications and competencies necessary for assigned locations
- Cross-Training Expectations
- Residential Float DSPs will be cross-trained at multiple Starpoint residential locations so they are prepared to provide safe and consistent services wherever coverage is needed. Employees must be willing to:
- Work with different individuals, teams, and residential environments
- Learn and follow the routines and requirements of each assigned home
- Complete all required training and individual-specific competencies
- Accept assignments at locations where qualified coverage is needed
- Adapt professionally to changing schedules and staffing needs
- Be dependable, flexible, compassionate, and committed to supporting adults with I/DDBe comfortable working at different residential locations
- Adapt well to different individuals, routines, teams, and support needs
- Follow written and verbal instructions, individual plans, and agency procedures
- Demonstrate professional communication, sound judgment, and teamwork
- Maintain reliable and consistent attendance
- Meet Starpoint's employment, background, driving, and training requirements
- Possess a valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record
- Meet the physical requirements of the position
- Be willing to complete required DSP, medication administration/QMAP, CPR and First Aid, individual-specific, and other assigned training and competencies
