About the role
- Tech E&O underwriting and quoting (MSPs)
- Underwrite and quote blended Tech E&O / Cyber for MSPs in a high-volume queue, applying SeedPod's Underwriting Guidelines and MSP rating methodology.
- Assess managed-services revenue mix, MSSP exposure, MSA/SLA quality, RMM setup and claims history; apply hazard loads, schedule credits/debits and limits/retention options within authority.
- Draft and track pre-bind and post-bind subjectivities (for example, M365 tenant connection, RMM attestations, signed applications, no-known-loss letters) and clear them before or after bind.
- Run renewal and rollover batches, benchmarking expiring terms and setting target premiums for accounts moving onto the SeedPod program.
- SME cyber quoting
- Quote standalone cyber for small and mid-sized businesses, including MSP clients, through the platform and through open-market carriers.
- Structure limits, retentions and sublimits (for example, eCrime and social engineering) to fit the client's needs and existing crime or other coverage.
- SeedPod Cyber's revolutionary telemetry platform
- Work daily in the SeedPod Underwriter Workbench to review submissions, apply presumed-controls binds where eligible, issue quotes and bind.
- Read Microsoft 365 telemetry (MFA coverage, admin and legacy authentication, Secure Score, EDR, backups) and turn findings into pricing, conditions or remediation asks.
- Flag data and engine issues to product and engineering, test new rating and workflow features, and help refine guidelines as we learn from the book.
- Carrier and market relationships
- Partner with our program carrier's underwriting, operations and finance teams on referrals, billing and cancellations.
- Place and service business with other markets when needed for Tech E&O, cyber, BOP and package accounts.
- Present submissions clearly, negotiate terms and keep markets informed on renewals and open items.
- Client and coverage support
- Answer coverage questions from MSPs and their clients in plain English, explaining the intent of the policy, how limits and sublimits respond, and how cyber interacts with crime or BOP coverage.
- Prepare quote proposals, coverage overviews and comparisons against competing quotes.
- Coordinate binders, policy issuance, COIs, premium finance agreements and surplus lines paperwork with operations and accounting.
- Sales team collaboration
- Work hand in hand with the MSP channel and sales team on prospect calls, quote walkthroughs and objection handling.
- Turn quotes around quickly, follow up on open quotes and help convert them to binds.
- Support partner programs (certified MSPs, franchise systems, marketplace integrations) with underwriting guidance.
- Team leadership
- Mentor the junior underwriter: review their quotes, set referral rules and build their technical skills.
- Keep Salesforce and the bound-business tracker accurate, and report on pipeline, hit ratio and renewal retention.
- First 90 days
- Onboarded on SeedPod Cyber's new telemetry-driven quoting platform and fully trained on the Underwriting Guidelines and rating methodology.
- Owning a share of the daily MSP Tech E&O and cyber queue end to end, with quote turnaround inside our service targets.
- Working relationships in place with our carrier partners and the SeedPod sales team.
- First year
- Running the underwriting queue day to day with the junior underwriter, so leadership handles only exceptions and referrals.
- Growing bound premium and hit ratio while holding pricing and guideline discipline.
- Driving renewal retention across the MSP book.
- Contributing concrete improvements to the platform, guidelines and quoting workflow.
- SeedPod Cyber
- Underwrite on SeedPod Cyber's revolutionary telemetry platform, using real security data instead of questionnaires, and help shape where it goes next.
- A focused, fast-growing niche: Tech E&O and cyber for the MSP channel and the SMEs it serves.
- Small team, direct access to leadership and a visible impact on the book.
Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
