About the role

Carolina Legal Associates is currently placing an Estate Planning Attorney for an active client firm in the York County, SC area. They provide a steady stream of prospective clients directly to you. Therefore, you do not need to generate your own leads! Your main goal is to advise families. You will lead initial meetings and turn those consultations into retained business. This role gives you direct control over your income. It highly suits attorneys who enjoy a steady pace and clear goals. Daily Responsibilities Lead initial client consultations and secure new business. Guide families through their various legal choices. Draft customized wills, trusts, and powers of attorney. Work closely with the paralegal team to deliver outstanding legal support. Attend local networking events to educate the community about estate planning. Candidate Requirements Hold an active South Carolina law license (this is the primary requirement). Possess a North Carolina license as a bonus, though it is not mandatory. Have at least 1-2 years of legal experience. Bring a history of managing initial client meetings. Display strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Feel comfortable discussing legal fees directly with clients. Know how to use legal document software and client databases. Prior estate planning knowledge helps, but the firm will gladly train the right person. Pay, Benefits, and Location Earn a competitive base salary tailored to your experience. Take home uncapped monthly performance bonuses tied to your individual production and collected revenue. Enjoy health insurance, a 401(k), paid time off, and paid holidays. Get free assistance from the team to draft your own estate plans. Work full-time and in-office, Monday through Friday. Split your work week between the Charlotte and Fort Mill locations. Attend occasional evening or weekend community events. Receive relocation help on a case-by-case basis if needed.
Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. The employee may perform other related duties as negotiated to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
