About the role
Our client is seeking an Associate to join their Investment Operations team. The Associate will support a multi-asset-class investment platform and play an important part in the day-to-day operation of the platform, with responsibilities spanning client onboarding and implementation, investment and client data operations, portfolio reporting, systems, and ongoing investment activity.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Onboarding & Implementation Manage the operational execution of new client relationships, including timelines, deliverables, and dependencies from initial engagement through implementation. Prepare, collect, and review account opening, KYC/AML, entity, authorization, and investment documentation. Coordinate account establishment, asset transfers, and investment implementation with custodians, investment teams, legal and compliance, fund administrators, and other service providers. Establish and maintain accurate client entities, accounts, ownership structures, and portfolios within reporting and data systems. Serve as a day-to-day operational point of contact for clients and their advisors, providing responsive and high-quality execution. Client & Investment Operations Support ongoing portfolio activity across public and private investments, including subscriptions, redemptions, capital calls, distributions, cash flows, and valuations. Support monthly and quarterly client reporting, including performance, asset allocation, portfolio activity, and other client-specific analysis. Reconcile positions, transactions, cash, valuations, and other portfolio data across custodians, investment managers, fund administrators, and internal systems. Research and resolve data discrepancies and reconciliation issues. Maintain accurate and complete client and investment data, including manager statements, valuations, cost basis, and transaction activity. Systems, Data & Process Improvement Support portfolio management and reporting technology, including account and portfolio configuration, data management, reconciliation, and reporting. Help maintain data governance standards, operational controls, procedures, and documentation. Identify opportunities to improve workflows, automate manual processes, strengthen controls, and increase operational efficiency. Support technology implementations, vendor integrations, and other initiatives to enhance the operating platform. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner closely with investment and client teams to support portfolio implementation, investment data operations, client reporting, and ongoing investment activity. Coordinate with Legal, Compliance, Finance, Technology, and other internal teams to resolve operational matters. Manage relationships with custodians, fund administrators, technology providers, and other external service providers. Contribute to broader operational initiatives and special projects.
Qualifications:
3–5 years of relevant experience in investment or client operations, ideally within an RIA, multi-family office, outsourced CIO platform, private bank, or similar environment. Experience with client or account onboarding, including account opening documentation, KYC/AML requirements, entity structures, and investment documentation. Experience supporting multi-asset-class portfolios, including public markets and alternative investments such as private equity, private credit, hedge strategies, or real assets. Working knowledge of wealth management and portfolio reporting platforms; experience with Addepar or similar platforms is a plus. Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with large and complex data sets. Experience with data integrations, APIs, automation tools, or VBA is a plus. Strong understanding of investment and portfolio data, with the ability to identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies across multiple sources and systems. Bachelor’s degree required.
