About the role
A well-established leader in the specialty metals and industrial distribution industry is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable, established organization and gain broad exposure across general accounting, financial reporting, tax, audit, and fixed assets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare account reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries
- Reconcile intercompany accounts and support month-end close
- Assist with monthly financial reporting
- Administer company purchase card accounts and review employee expenses
- Support cash application, fixed assets, and audit preparation
- Prepare and review property tax, sales tax, annual reports, licenses, and other regulatory filings
- Assist with federal and state tax activities
- Ensure accounting activities comply with GAAP and company policies
- Manage special projects and other accounting deliverables
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to identify and resolve accounting discrepancies
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong Microsoft Office/computer skills
- Experience with an ERP system preferred
