As a Sales Arborist, you will play a pivotal role in launching and growing the Monterey location, combining entrepreneurial autonomy with the support and resources of a respected organization. Responsibilities:
Lead sales efforts and oversee daily operations for the Monterey location
Conduct professional tree assessments and develop tailored proposals for clients
Manage all aspects of crew operations, including hiring, training, and ensuring safety standards
Oversee equipment, inventory, and quality control processes
Maintain profit and loss responsibility with a focus on sustainable growth
Represent Maguire Tree Care within the Monterey community and at industry events
Balance customer acquisition with operational efficiency and high-quality service delivery
Monitor business performance metrics such as sales conversion rates and job profitability
Take full ownership of the location’s success, supported by the broader organization
Qualifications:
ISA Certified Arborist (required)
3+ years of experience in tree care sales with a proven record of success
Demonstrated business development and relationship-building skills
Experience managing tree service crews
Comprehensive knowledge of local tree species, regulations, and arboricultural practices
Strong understanding of tree risk assessment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency with CRM systems and digital estimation tools
Established relationships and connections in the Monterey area (preferred)
Additional certifications such as TRAQ or CTSP (preferred)
Experience in startup or new business development (preferred)
History of scaling operations and team building (preferred)
Background in high-end residential and/or commercial tree care (preferred)
Self-motivated, entrepreneurial mindset, and strong work ethic
Exceptional time management and problem-solving abilities
Ability to thrive in a startup environment and work both independently and collaboratively
Passion for arboriculture and tree preservation
Compensation Competitive base salarywith an uncapped, performance-based commission structure. Growth milestone bonuses are available, and there is potential for equity or profit sharing as the operation expands.
