Contract Specialist (Mid -Level) - (303) Job Title Contract Specialist (Mid -Level) Job Type Full-time Location WASHINGTON, DC 20001 US (Primary) Category Contracts Mid-Level Open Education OpenTravel Security Clearance Required Security Clearance TSJob Description The Mid Contract Specialist will provide contract closeout support to the Closeout Branch, supporting the review and completion of assigned contracts and delivery/task orders. The Contract Specialist will coordinate with the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA), Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA), contractors, and other members of the centralized closeout team to prepare assigned contracts for final closeout. Responsibilities include reviewing Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) contract documentation, understanding Contract Line Item Number (CLIN) structures, and supporting the preparation and completion of contract closeout requirements. Duties may include obtaining and generating required closeout documentation, coordinating with contractors regarding outstanding documentation, supporting final voucher and audit activities, assisting with de-obligations and contract modifications, and documenting missing requirements and actions taken to obtain them. The Mid Contract Specialist will also support contract administration and acquisition activities, including market analysis, acquisition planning, requirements documentation, Requests for Information (RFIs), Requests for Quotes (RFQs), solicitations, contract modifications, proposal review, and source selection support as required. The position will maintain accurate contract and closeout documentation and update closeout tracking information to support Government Contracting Officer and management requirements.
Job Requirements: Requires 9–12 years of relevant experience performing actions specific to the labor category, with relevant experience within the last 2 years. Work is highly independent and requires the ability to perform responsibilities with minimal oversight. Demonstrates in-depth knowledge and understanding of contract administration and acquisition lifecycle activities, including contract closeout, market research, acquisition planning, solicitation support, contract modifications, source selection support, and contract documentation. Demonstrates extensive working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and applicable agency supplements. Demonstrates the ability to analyze requirements, develop and review acquisition and contract documentation, communicate effectively with Government and contractor personnel, and support Contracting Officers throughout the acquisition and contract lifecycle.
