Role Description: The Payroll Specialist is a part-time, remote role responsible for managing accurate and timely payroll processing for the company’s workforce. Day-to-day tasks include preparing and reviewing payroll data, verifying time entries and compensation changes, and ensuring compliance with payroll tax regulations and internal policies. The role involves handling garnishments and other special payroll deductions, coordinating with payroll service providers, and responding to payroll-related inquiries from team members. The Payroll Specialist will maintain detailed records, support audits as needed, and collaborate with finance and HR to resolve discrepancies and improve payroll workflows.
Qualifications: Demonstrated experience in Payroll Administration and Payroll Processing, with the ability to manage recurring pay cycles accurately. Knowledge of Payroll Taxes and familiarity with working with external Payroll Services or providers. Experience handling Garnishments and other complex payroll deductions in compliance with applicable laws. Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and proficiency with payroll or accounting software. Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage part-time hours effectively, and meet strict deadlines. Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and employment regulations related to payroll. Effective written and verbal communication skills, with a customer-service mindset when addressing employee questions. Previous experience in real estate or a professional services environment is beneficial but not required. High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework or certification in payroll or accounting is a plus.
