Employment Type: Full-Time
Position Overview:
A leading mechanical contractor is seeking an experienced MEP BIM Manager to oversee Building Information Modeling and Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) efforts for large-scale commercial mechanical projects. This position will play a critical role in managing BIM processes from preconstruction through project completion, ensuring mechanical systems are accurately modeled, coordinated, constructible, and aligned with project requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background working for a mechanical contractor or MEP subcontractor and extensive experience with large commercial construction projects. The BIM Manager will work closely with Project Managers, Estimators, Superintendents, Detailers, General Contractors, engineers, and other trades to drive coordination and improve project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead BIM/VDC efforts for large-scale commercial mechanical construction projects from preconstruction through installation. Manage and oversee the development and coordination of mechanical BIM models, including HVAC, piping, plumbing, and other MEP systems as applicable. Review contract documents, design drawings, specifications, and models to identify constructability issues and potential conflicts. Lead BIM coordination efforts with General Contractors, engineers, subcontractors, and other trades. Manage clash detection, coordination meetings, and resolution of design and installation conflicts. Develop and maintain project BIM Execution Plans and modeling standards. Ensure models meet project requirements, company standards, and applicable BIM/VDC protocols. Work closely with project teams to ensure coordinated models translate effectively into field installation. Support prefabrication and modularization efforts through accurate and detailed BIM models. Coordinate fabrication-level modeling and ensure models are suitable for field installation and prefabrication. Establish and maintain BIM workflows, standards, templates, libraries, and best practices. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to BIM/VDC coordinators, detailers, and project personnel. Collaborate with project leadership to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce rework, and enhance constructability. Assist with project planning, sequencing, and constructability reviews. Participate in project kickoff meetings, coordination meetings, and design reviews. Ensure timely delivery of BIM models and coordination milestones. Troubleshoot modeling and coordination issues and provide solutions to project teams. Help implement new BIM/VDC technologies, processes, and workflows to improve project performance.

Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
