Machine Operator 3rd Shift
Location:
West Chicago, IL Pay: $22.00/hr Shift: 3rd Shift | 10:00 PM 6:00 AM Overtime: Mandatory overtime may be required during the week and/or weekends We are hiring Machine Operators for a fast-paced food manufacturing facility in West Chicago, IL. This position is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring packaging equipment while maintaining safety, quality, and production standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate ROPAK and associated packaging equipment
- Adjust machine settings to produce quality pouches, cartons, and cases according to specifications
- Monitor equipment and identify quality, production, or safety issues
- Communicate equipment or production concerns to supervisors, leads, and mechanics
- Change packaging materials as needed
- Read and understand production schedules and product specifications
- Complete required production paperwork accurately
- Perform basic math, including percentages, and use scales and calculators
- Follow GMP, food safety, quality, and workplace safety procedures
- Maintain machines and work areas clean and free of safety hazards
- Troubleshoot basic production issues and take appropriate corrective action
Requirements:
- Previous machine operating or manufacturing experience preferred
- Must successfully complete the ROPAK selection test
- Good hand-eye coordination and motor skillsAbility to identify product quality and safety issues
- Basic math and reading skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Must be able to stand for 8+ hours
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. independently
- Must be comfortable with reaching, lifting, repetitive movement, odors, and dust
- Must be available for mandatory overtime, including weekends when required
