About the role

Sub Monitor, Bus Under general supervision, maintains behavioral discipline and focuses on the special needs of students being transported on DeKalb County School District (DCSD) buses.
Essential Functions: The following duties are representative for this position. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned. Oversees students and/or special education students over scheduled routes and/or to/from special excursions. Enforces rules, regulations, and laws to maintain safety during transport. Ensures the safety of special education students during transport, loading and unloading from buses. Performs other duties as assigned EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or GED preferred. Minimum of six (6) months years of experience working with students with disabilities is preferred. Knowledge of 2-way radio communication preferred. Reliable transportation required. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, PERMITS: Must have or be able to obtain CPR and First Aid Certification.
