Position Overview: Seeking an experienced Veterinary Medical Director to provide clinical leadership for a specialty and emergency hospital. This hands-on leadership role combines advanced clinical practice with protected administrative time, focusing on medical excellence, team development, and hospital growth.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide clinical leadership across specialty and emergency services
  • Establish and maintain medical standards, protocols, and best practices
  • Mentor veterinarians, interns, and support staff
  • Collaborate with hospital leadership on strategic planning, recruitment, and service development
  • Maintain an active clinical caseload within your area of expertise
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performing hospital culture
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary: $180,000–$275,000, based on specialty, experience, and production

Qualifications:
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree
  • Board certification in a veterinary specialty (such as emergency, internal medicine, surgery, or a related specialty) strongly preferred
  • Eligible for veterinary licensure in the practicing state
  • Previous leadership experience or a strong interest in clinical leadership
  • Commitment to evidence-based medicine and excellent client communication
  • Passion for mentorship, collaboration, and continuous improvement
