About the role
- Own the performance of a multifaceted plastics line—set it up, run it, verify quality, and close it out. You’ll ensure machines operate at the right set points, keep equipment maintained, and respond quickly to keep production on track.
- Key contributions
- Champion safety by adhering to all company safety policies and practices.
- Start machines and routinely validate that set points are accurate.
- Operate extrusion blow mold, extrusion machine, injection blow mold, injection mold, labeling, pad printing, and silk-screen equipment.
- Maintain proper function: clean filters, perform minor maintenance, and monitor while purging.
- Verify correct sleeves, boxes, labels, and materials by part numbers for each run.
- Keep M.O. Weight and Process Check Sheets current and accurate.
- Run in-process quality checks; ensure samples meet specifications and adjust machines as needed.
- Troubleshoot and make appropriate machine adjustments to resolve line issues.
- Notify supervision when maintenance is required; restart machines after completion.
- Document issues, causes, and resolutions; record production/quality data (manual/data collector) and close out production runs.
- Maintain cleanliness and order; enforce safety and housekeeping standards.
- Support training for Technician Operators; provide coverage for breaks and lunches.
- Assist with other duties and special projects as needed.
- What you’ll bring
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with plastic molding equipment preferred.
- Knowledge of plastics manufacturing processes and machinery.
- Mechanical aptitude and technical training in packaging, plastics, and printing equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Strong manual dexterity and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced setting.
- Proven problem-solving skills.
