Administrative Assistant II, Development and MembershipThe Skirball Cultural Center seeks an enthusiastic and detail-oriented professional to serve as Administrative Assistant for Development and Membership. Reporting directly to the Associate Director of Development, this position is responsible for providing clerical and administrative office support to the Development Department. This position requires strong attention to detail as well as the ability to regularly interface with the Skirball's member and donor base. This is a growing department with opportunities for the right candidate to expand their role and deepen their impact over time.Pay Range: $22 - $24 per hourResponsibilitiesAdministrativeReport to the Associate Director of Development and assist in all areas, as requestedOrganize and maintain computer and hard copy filesMaintain various Excel department chartsAnswer telephones and monitor the Development email inboxAdminister written correspondence and its disseminationSchedule, arrange, and prepare rooms for meetingsCoordinate and track department invoices for paymentAttend meetings, take and distribute notes, and assist with organizationManage the donor database in Altru: create and maintain donor and prospect profiles; process checks, cash, and credit card donations; process memberships, invoices, receipts, tributes, and thank-you letters to donors; sustain data hygiene; prepare and manage various activity reports and queries; maintain and generate mailing lists in Altru and FileMaker Pro for mailings and special eventsDevelopmentServe as a knowledgeable representative of the Skirball Cultural Center's mission and historySupport planning and execution of major donor events, cultivation experiences, and public-facing programsSupport donor communications across the department, including lift notes, acknowledgement letters, and other written correspondence in coordination with the President's OfficeProvide excellent service to donors and key partners via phone, email, and in personCoordinate and assist with hosting on-site eventsCoordinate external mailings and communicationsConduct prospective donor researchWork closely with the President's Office staff on donor-related projects and reportsAssist the Membership Manager on an as-needed basisAssist Communications on an as-needed basisOversee volunteers on special projectsQualifications, Experience, and Attributes3+ years of successful experience as an administrative assistant or coordinator in a similar role; experience working in a development department for a nonprofit preferredUndergraduate degree in English, communications, fundraising, or a similar field, and/or equivalent experienceExcellent proficiency with IT tools including Office 365 applications, Altru or equivalent donor database software, FileMaker Pro, and Zoom; strong ability to conduct computer research and navigate online directories and databasesStrong organizational skills and the ability to multitaskExcellent editing and data entry skillsCollaborative, thoughtful, and professional with a genuine interest in the workDemonstrated commitment to the Skirball's mission to welcome the stranger and help build a more just society
