About the role

Legal Administrative Support Specialist We are looking for a detail-oriented Legal Administrative Support specialist to join a nonprofit organization in Los Angeles, California. This contract opportunity offers essential coordination and administrative assistance to legal and advocacy teams, helping daily operations run smoothly in a primarily hybrid environment. The role is well suited for someone who enjoys balancing scheduling, document handling, and cross-functional support while contributing to mission-driven work.
Responsibilities: Coordinate day-to-day administrative support for attorneys, paralegals, organizers, and advocacy staff to keep team activities organized and on schedule. Arrange virtual meetings, prepare Zoom logistics, and provide meeting support to ensure sessions run efficiently. Maintain calendars, organize appointments, and help manage planning for volunteer and lobbying-related activities. Track, file, and preserve important records such as intern applications and litigation approval documentation. Handle financial administrative tasks, including invoice submission, check request processing, and credit card reconciliation support. Assist with office operations by monitoring supplies, organizing storage needs, and helping prepare for onsite meetings when required. Provide general administrative assistance across the department and support translation needs on an occasional basis. Help maintain clear communication and follow-through among legal, organizing, and advocacy teams in a hybrid work setting.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
