Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Take full responsibility for the music elements of the middle-school musical
From January 28, 2027, through May 15, 2027, collaborate with the Arts Department Producer and the director of the play to create, teach, and manage the musical elements of the middle-school musical, TBD
Attend production meetings as mutually agreed upon by the director of the play, the Arts Department Producer, and all relevant design personnel
Teach the play's music to the student-actors and prepare them musically and vocally for performances
Enthusiastically and compassionately coach, direct, and collaborate with all students involved in the production to ensure a positive, challenging, and educational experience
Throughout the production, in coordination with the Arts Department Producer and all relevant production staff, create and maintain a safe, supportive working environment for all students and staff, free from physical danger, harassment, and bullying
Collaborate with the director of the play to ensure that the music direction reflects and supports their vision for the show

Rehearsal Venue: PRS Campus (6269 El Fuerte St, Carlsbad, CA 92009)
Performance Venue: PRS Blackbox Theatre (6269 El Fuerte St, Carlsbad, CA 92009)
Rehearsal Times: Typically Tuesday thru Friday, 3:15-5:15pm
Auditions: February 11 & 12, 2027
First Rehearsal: February 25, 2027
No rehearsals: March 20-29, 2027, and April 3-12, 2027
Tech/Dress Rehearsal: May 4-7, 2027
Dress Rehearsal: May 10-12, 2027
Performances: May 13-15, 2027
Compensation:
$18 per hour with a total earning potential of $4,400 Qualifications: Minimum Requirements Prior theatrical music direction or vocal music instruction experience in professional or educational setting required
Strong piano skills preferred
Students currently pursuing degrees in theatre, music, or related field strongly considered
Professional experience and/or advanced degree in theatre, music, or related field preferred
