Job Description: Job Description We are looking for a skilled and motivated Machine Builder to join our team. The Machine Builder will be responsible for assembling, installing, and troubleshooting custom automated machinery and equipment. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys turning engineering designs into working machines and takes pride in building quality equipment. Our projects involve mechanical assembly, robotics, pneumatics, electrical components, controls, and automated manufacturing systems.
Key Responsibilities: Build and assemble custom automation equipment from engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions. Install mechanical components including linear motion systems, bearings, gearboxes, conveyors, guarding, and pneumatic devices. Assemble and route pneumatic and electrical components as required. Assist with installation and setup of robots, servos, sensors, actuators, and other automation components. Perform mechanical alignment, fitting, adjustment, and precision assembly. Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues during machine build and debug. Work closely with Controls Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, and Project Managers to complete machines according to project requirements. Assist with machine debug, testing, and customer acceptance activities. Make necessary adjustments and modifications to equipment during the build process. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Travel occasionally to customer facilities for installation, startup, and service as needed. Follow company safety procedures and quality standards.
Qualifications: 2+ years of experience in machine building, mechanical assembly, industrial maintenance, automation, or a related field preferred. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, assembly drawings, and schematics. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Experience with pneumatic systems and mechanical power transmission. Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment. Ability to troubleshoot equipment and identify the root cause of mechanical issues. Basic understanding of electrical systems and controls is a plus. Experience with industrial robots, conveyors, servo systems, or automated equipment is highly desirable. Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a project team. Strong attention to detail and commitment to building quality equipment.
