Overview: A leading fintech company is seeking an experienced Commercial Counsel to support its legal team on a contract basis. This role will focus on drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements while providing practical legal guidance to business stakeholders. The ideal candidate will bring strong commercial contracting experience, preferably within fintech or consumer financial services, and be comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Key Responsibilities: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including vendor agreements, customer contracts, partnership agreements, confidentiality agreements, and service agreements Provide day-to-day legal advice and guidance to business stakeholders on contractual, operational, and compliance matters Identify and assess legal and commercial risks associated with business initiatives and develop practical mitigation strategies Partner with cross-functional teams to support strategic business objectives and commercial transactions Support contract negotiations while balancing legal risk and business priorities Advise on issues related to regulatory compliance and evolving business requirements Qualifications 7+ years of commercial contracting experience Strong background supporting fintech, payments, consumer finance, or other regulated financial services businesses Experience negotiating complex commercial agreements in a high-growth environment Familiarity with fintech products, commercial deal structures, and consumer finance regulatory considerations Excellent drafting, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills Ability to work independently and manage a high volume of commercial matters
